Assemblymember Evan Low Endorses Dr. Jasmeet Bains for Assembly
Today, Dr. Jasmeet Bains’ campaign for Assembly District 35 announced the endorsement of Assemblymember Evan Low.
Assemblymember Evan Low, Vice Chair of the California Asian Pacific Islander Legislative Caucus, said: “Dr. Jasmeet Bains is the clear choice for State Assembly, where she will bring an important perspective as a family doctor to the issues facing all Californians. I am proud to endorse Dr. Bains and look forward to working with her when she is elected to deliver greater access to quality healthcare, relief for our small businesses, and more.”
Evan Low was first elected to the State Assembly in 2014, becoming the youngest Asian American ever elected to the Assembly. He is a leading voice in ensuring California remains a global leader in technology and innovation. In the Assembly, he has championed legislation to increase access to critically needed healthcare screenings, fight opioid abuse, provide protections and resources for crime victims, and more.
“It is an honor to receive the support of Assemblymember Evan Low,” said Dr. Jasmeet Bains. “I have a great deal of respect for the work Assemblymember Low does to fight the opioid crisis and ensure everyone has access to the healthcare they deserve. I am looking forward to working with him and others in the Assembly to ensure all Californians can thrive.”
Dr. Bains continues to amass a wave of endorsements. Assemblymember Low joins Assemblymember and Dr. Akilah Weber, Senator and Dr. Richard Pan, Senator Melissa Hurtado, Senator Dave Min, the California Medical Association, the Kern County Medical Society, the National Union of Healthcare Workers, and many more organizations and individuals in throwing their support behind Dr. Bains’ candidacy for the newly redrawn Assembly District 35.
The primary election will be held on June 7, 2022.
