Bakersfield Police Officers Association Endorses Dr. Jasmeet Bains for Assembly
Dr. Jasmeet Bains continues to rack up endorsements from public safety professionals, with the Bakersfield Police Officers Association coming out in full support of Dr. Bains’ candidacy for State Assembly District 35.
Santiago Baltazar, President of the Bakersfield Police Officers Association, said: “The Bakersfield Police Officers Association proudly stands with Dr. Jasmeet Bains for Assembly. With crime on the rise and fentanyl running rampant throughout our communities and endangering the lives of far too many, Dr. Bains will be a key partner in preventing gang violence and keeping our children safe from illicit drugs. We look forward to working with Dr. Bains to improve the quality of life for families in Kern County and throughout California.”
The Bakersfield Police Officers Association has over 400 members. The membership includes police officers, senior police officers, detectives, sergeants, lieutenants, and captains. They are dedicated to protecting and serving the City of Bakersfield, and are committed to our community both on-duty and off-duty, and frequently support local and national children’s charities.
Dr. Jasmeet Bains said, “I am immensely honored to have the support of the Bakersfield Police Officers Association. Investing in public safety and ensuring we stand with victims and their families is one of my top priorities. It is especially humbling to have their support as I remember the loss of my grandfather to homicide and the tragic impact it has had on our family. In the Assembly, I will stand for public safety and against misguided attempts to undermine the safety of our communities and the rights of victims and their families. Together, we will beat back the fentanyl epidemic and make our neighborhoods safer for all who call Kern County home.”
BPOA joins a growing list of law enforcement organizations who have pledged their support for Dr. Bains’ campaign for Assembly, including the California Coalition of Law Enforcement Associations and the Kern County Prosecutors Association. They join a long list of community leaders, elected officials and organizations supporting Dr. Bains’ candidacy, including the California Medical Association, the Kern County Medical Society, and others.
The primary election will be held on June 7, 2022, and vote-by-mail ballots will be mailed to voters no later than Monday, May 9, 2022.
