Kern County Medical Society & California Medical Association Endorse Dr. Jasmeet Bains for Assembly

Dr. Jasmeet Bains has won the key endorsements of the Kern County Medical Society and the California Medical Association, her campaign announced today.

Raymond Tsai, MD MS, President, Kern County Medical Society said: “The physicians of Kern County Medical Society fully endorse Dr. Jasmeet Bains as the best choice for California State Assembly. Dr. Bains has been an inspiring local physician who has worked tirelessly taking care of at-risk patients during the COVID-19 pandemic, doing research on medical issues that affect us locally like Valley Fever, and serving our community as an addiction rehabilitation specialist. If Dr. Bains gives her district the same level of care she gives her patients, we can be assured that we have someone capable and compassionate advocating for us in Sacramento.”

“Dr. Jasmeet Bains has spent her career delivering access to quality healthcare to our underserved communities and is the best choice for State Assembly,” said Chrisy Muchow, Executive Director of the Kern County Medical Society (KCMS). “We know that in the Assembly, Dr. Bains will be a champion for the health and well-being of every family and KCMS is proud to endorse her.”

California Medical Association President Dr. Robert E. Wailes, MD said: “The California Medical Association is pleased to endorse Dr. Jasmeet Bains for State Assembly. As we continue to navigate the global pandemic and work to expand and protect access to care, it is critical that we elect individuals who have the background and knowledge necessary to deliver for all Californians. Dr. Bains is the clear choice for Assembly and will be an integral partner in our work to ensure everyone can get access to quality, affordable health care.”

The Kern County Medical Society is the professional association of physicians practicing in Kern County who are dedicated to increasing access to quality healthcare and addressing local health issues. KCMS is a component society of the California Medical Association (CMA). CMA has represented California physicians for more than 160 years, presently representing nearly 50,000 physicians throughout the state. Their mission is to promote the science and art of medicine, protect public health and advance the betterment of the medical profession.

Dr. Jasmeet Bains said: “It is truly an honor to receive the support of the Kern County Medical Society and the California Medical Association. I’m running for Assembly because what I witnessed as a physician on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic was truly horrifying. Everyone deserves access to quality healthcare, and our Valley deserves a champion who will deliver for our families and children. In the Assembly, I will be that champion.”

The Kern County Medical Society and California Medical Association are the latest in a rapid-fire series of endorsements won by Dr. Bains. They join Senator Melissa Hurtado (D-Sanger) and pediatrician and Senator Dr. Richard Pan (D-Sacramento) in throwing their early support behind Dr. Bains’ candidacy for State Assembly. Dr. Bains’ campaign also recently announced raising over $120,000 in the first month since announcing her candidacy.

The primary election will be held on June 7, 2022.
