National Union of Healthcare Workers Endorse Dr. Jasmeet Bains for Assembly
Today, Dr. Jasmeet Bains’ campaign for Assembly District 35 announced the endorsement of the National Union of Healthcare Workers.
Sal Rosselli, President of the National Union of Healthcare Workers, said: "Dr. Jasmeet Bains has been on the frontlines providing physical, mental, and addiction care for rural and underserved populations. Dr. Bains understands the immense pressures healthcare workers, patients, and working families are facing, particularly in the wake of the pandemic. As an Assemblymember, Dr. Bains will be a much-needed voice for expanding access to quality healthcare and mental healthcare to ensure all working families can thrive. NUHW is proud to stand with Dr. Bains for State Assembly."
Founded in 2009, the National Union of Healthcare Workers (NUHW) represents more than 15,000 medical technicians and technologists, clerical workers, psychologists, pharmacists, housekeepers, dietary workers, nurses, nursing assistants, drug rehabilitation counselors, mental health clinicians, engineers, and many others whose hospitals and clinics rely on them to provide top quality patient care and service.
“I’m proud to have the support of NUHW and its frontline workers who work tirelessly to provide care and comfort to so many Californians,” said Dr. Jasmeet Bains. “In the Assembly, I am looking forward to working with NUHW and others in ensuring we can continue delivering high quality patient care and that the rights of our frontline workers are protected.”
Dr. Bains continues to amass critical endorsements from local leaders, organizations representing frontline health care workers, education leaders and elected officials, including State Senator Dr. Richard Pan, Assemblymember Dr. Akilah Weber, and others.
The primary election will be held on June 7, 2022.
